The proud owner of the Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 lens

I'm now the proud owner of the special Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 lens! It's a lens I wanted for a year now, but wasn't daring enough to spend the money for it until now. 2 weeks ago, I was cruising the B&H Photo website (like I always do when I'm bored). I saw the lens for used, and with a rating of 9+ so I was pretty much getting a new lens for used. In the end, I saved about 300-400 bucks so it was a no brainer to get this. I haven't tried it at a show yet but I'm hoping I can get some great shots with it soon!

It might even be too big for the type of shows I've been going to lately, but this lens will make me stand out from the other photographers. Or at least I'm hoping. I'm getting pretty serious about photography now so my next step is to actually get more passes to shows, and to shoot for other people besides myself. And in the end, make some kind of side profit from this. I just don't want this to be an expensive hobby like it used to be, I want to get more exposure and get my stuff in magazines and papers. I'm gonna contact the local paper and see about shooting some concerts for them, and gonna submit my work to various magazines. I think I might also try to join some agencies and getting assignments that way. I just have to wait until I'm back from Vegas in 2 weeks. No sense submitting things when I'm not really available haha. But I really don't plan on making a lot from concert photography because I keep hearing it's pretty hard to make anything from it. but its worth a shot to get SOME money from it. It's not like i'm gonna quit my job and live in my car just to take band photos. Though it would be nice to make a living out of this. I just don't think it's gonna happen...
